Popis: For some decades the problem of infertility has increasingly been extended to anomalies in the male partner. Male fertility may also have various causes: reduced volume of ejaculate decreased number and motility of sperms and increased proportion of abnormal (injured) sperms. It was found that as a result of ATP and cAMP supply in vivo in demembranated models the length of time of the sperms’ motility grew thirtyfold (122.0 min) compared to the control (4.2 min) [1,2]. This is made possible by the fact that the energy required for the motion of sperms is released from the ATP by the ATPase [3]. According to Morisava [4] the motility of sperms needs the joint presence of cAMP and MgATP. It was found the formation of both ATP and cAMP to be a magnesium process [5,6]. In our previous experiments with Drosophilae pointed out a close correlation between fertility and the magnesium content of the diet [7,8]; fertility increased compared to the control by 4% with 0.1 M, by 6% with 0.2 M and by 15% with 0.5 M magnesium contained in 1% sugar solution food. On the basis of the above we suppose that by per os magnesium therapy both the amount of ejaculate and the number and motility of sperms can increased.
