Popis:	Trials have been undertaken to study the comparative biomass and hydrocarbon production of seven different types of the plant Pedilanthus. After three years of growth the plants were cut and the resulting material subjected to acetone and benzene extraction. On the basis of the results obtained Pedilanthus tithymaloides var. cuculatus, P. tithymaloides var. variegatus I and P. tithymaloides (proper) are the most promising varieties for development as petro-crops, with potential for good biomass and total hydrocarbon yields.
