Popis: | Custom LabVIEW software has been developed which creates a virtual control panel equipped with a waveform chart that simultaneously displays both calculated and experimental time-resolved laser-induced emission profiles of pyrene monomer and excimer species. The program uses numerical methods and interactively controlled rate constants to solve a set of coupled differential rate equations. The virtual control panel is equipped with controls that can be operated with a computer mouse to interactively adjust the values of the rate constants until the calculate curves best fit the experimental data as measured by a variance of fit meter. The control panel also has a convolution switch, which, when enabled, subjects the calculated intensity profiles to the same instrumental distortions as those experienced by the experimental profiles. Unlike traditional curve-fitting algorithms, the analog nature of this virtual instrument provides students an opportunity to interactively explore the behavior of a coupled ki... |
