Popis: The composition of the eta carbide in Hastelloy N containing 0.7 wt pct silicon in the alloy, approaches Mi2C, rather than M6C as indicated in the alloy literature. The silicon content of the eta phase in this case was ~25 at. pct, much higher than has been observed in less highly alloyed material. The data do not permit a definition of the limiting compositions of the phases.
