Popis: | To reduce pollution of water resources it is often necessary to cover uranium mining waste heaps and tailings. In this paper the failure mechanisms which can be significant for a mineral sealing layer are set out and discussed. On the basis of this, the requirements for the construction of a cover are defined. The necessity for post-closure care is discussed and, finally, the question is addressed of when it is sensible to include a mineral sealing layer in a cover system. |
