Laparoscopic surgery is the golden standard in surgery. It has the benefits of shorter recovery time and less scaring. Although, the problem with laparoscopy is that it poses surgeons in very awkward movements and positions that can result to musculoskeletal problems and ergonomic disorders. This paper proposes a mechanical design and its dynamic analysis for a robotic articulating laparoscopic instrument. The design will focus mainly into these two instruments: the grasper and the robotic arm. |
