Popis: | The production of magnesium and aluminum in melts containing 10–20 mole percent using and composite anodes have been studied. Magnesium and aluminum were produced as metallic particles in the melt after composite anode electrolysis. No anode effect was observed using nominal current densities up to 2 A/cm2. Current efficiencies were determined as high as 90% using a current density of 0.7 A/cm2 and an anode to cathode spacing of 1 cm. The anodic gaseous products were found to be and ; no halogens, , or were detected. |
