Growth efficiency in feedlot lambs on Prosopis juliflora based diets

Popis:	Three complete diets were formulated containing 0 (C1), 15% (C2) and 30% (C3) Prosopis juliflora pods. These rations were fed ad libitum. Twenty one growing indigenous lambs were isolated and randomly assigned to one of the three diets. Average daily body weights (BW) gain was not affected by inclusion of P. juliflora pods in complete diets. For predicting BW, heart girth correlated better (r2,0.76 at the beginning of the experiment; r2,0.56 at the end of the experiment) than the combined three body measurements: heart girth, body length and height at withers.
