Popis: The authors have developed a radioisotope method for evaluating the antipitting properties of motor oils and additives in a cam/pusher test stand, using a radioactive pusher. They have assumed that in a test with radioisotopes under conditions characteristic for the development of pitting, what will be registered is the moment of appearance of this specific type of fatigue wear. For identification of the type of wear, the pusher surface, after detection of a rapid increase in radioactivity of the test oil, was examined in a scanning electron microscope.
