Popis: Lithium-ion batteries are the most used power sources and energy storages currently, being used in the household domain, portable tools, telecommunications, renewable energies, urban mobility and electric cars. Testing plays an important role in the safe use of batteries and to determine a set of criteria that define their performance. A successful battery management relies on protection, in case of both compliant and non-compliant use, on an accurate estimation of the battery’s performance parameters to ensure an optimal functioning of the system it is integrated in, but also to prolong and protect the battery. Based on the national and international testing standards for commercial lithium-ion batteries, this paper presents a test bench that includes a set of experimental testing procedures that investigate the electrical abuse and performances of lithium-ion battery cells and battery packs.
