Experimental Study of Taurine on the Cerebral Dehydrogenase Activity in the Model of Unilateral Cerebral Ischemia

Popis: Today new pharmacology correctors of cerebral deteriorations are searched between neurotransmitter amino acids (glycine, GABA, glutamic acid, taurine). Experimental study of taurine intraperitoneal administration in the dose of 100 mg/kg in rats in the model of unilateral brain ischemia was done. Brain tissue viability of the right and left hemisphere, ischemic damage area after unilateral occlusion of the common carotid artery (left or right) was investigated. Our experiments have shown that therapeutic administration of taurine increased dehydrogenase activity after unilateral occlusion of the left common carotid artery in the both hemispheres.
