Popis: We studied the effect of pressure to 300 bar on the catalytic activity of subtilisin Carlsberg suspended in compressed ethane, and of immobilized Candida antarctica lipase B — Novozym 435 — suspended in compressed carbon dioxide, ethane and propane. Subtilisin activity in ethane decreased with increasing pressure and this effect was more pronounced close to the critical point of the solvent, resulting in large in magnitude pressure dependent activation volumes. The catalytic activity of Novozym was hardly affected by pressure in any of the solvents.
