Popis: | The NMR technique for the measurement of magnetic susceptibilities is extended to include metals in polycrystalline and single crystal forms. Measurements were made on cylindrical samples of copper, silver, gold, aluminium, magnesium, and beryllium. In particular the variation in the magnetic susceptibility of a single crystal of beryllium is obtained as a function of its orientation in the magnetic field. The values for the two principal components of the susceptibility are shown to agree well with those obtained previously by a classical method. |
