This paper will focus on providing the reading audience with a general overview of the practice of utilizing a whipstock methodology with the conveyance method of coiled tubing in order to create a casing / liner window. The overview will discuss general practices, tool selection criteria and provide case history demonstration of such. The case histories demonstrated will be representative of placement of the whipstock with both electric wireline and coiled tubing with actual window milling being performed with coiled tubing and workover motors. The case histories will encompass monobore applications, through tubing re-entry environments, fluid operations and also under balanced nitrogen driven applications. |
