On the theory of phase transitions in the ammonium halides

Popis: | The statistics of phase transitions in crystals NH4X and ND4X with X = Cl, Br, I is investigated in the framework of the equivalent Ising model. Evaluation of the interaction constants in the electrostatic model gives a good agreement with data for ND4Br. The thermodynamics of the phase transitions is considered in the cluster approximation. The quantitative estimations of the phase diagram (p, T) and of the order parameter σ(T) prove to be in good agreement with the data for NH4Br. Theoretical arguments are given against the existence of an extra phase OII in NH4Br different from the δ-phase. An explanation of the unusual form of the phase diagram (x, T) in the crystals NH4ClxBr1–x is proposed. [Russian Text Ignored] |
