Popis: | Rational polynomials or power series were fitted to dielectric constant data for the three binary solutions over the full composition range at 25 o C. Molar and partial molar susceptibilities were then evaluated from the fits. Available data sets for methanol-dioxane are in mild disagreement, and data sets for ethanol-dioxane are in stronger disagreement. Dielectric model theories were used in connection with Grunwald's formulation of the Kirkwood -factors to estimate angular correlation effects from the fits of the data. The Onsager-Bottcher model was unsuitable in this context because it did not provide a natural variation of cavity radius with composition |
