Popis: | Summary Most soccer injuries are musculoskeletal and tendinous and fractures involving the foot are rare. The cuboid is essential to the stability of the foot and unrecognized fractures may lead to disabling consequences. Stress fractures of the cuboid have been reported in athletes but there have been no reports of an isolated undisplaced cuboid fracture in a professional soccer player. This report highlights an unusual fracture which mimicked peroneal tendinitis. The use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomograpy (CT) reconstruction imaging enabled accurate diagnosis and follow-up. In this report short-term immobilization guided by radiological and clinical evidence of healing resulted in prompt return to professional sporting activities. |
