Popis: Electricity is one of the most widely used forms of energy in companies, especially in machining. Nowadays, machine tools are equipped with the latest technical solutions in the field of drives and control. Braking energy recovery systems and software for evaluating energy consumption are widely used in drive controllers. The paper presents an analysis of the consumption of both active and reactive electric energy in the turning process for different spindle speeds and different depths of the machined layer. The aim of this article is to present the results of the analysis of electric energy consumption divided into active and reactive energy during the turning process with various machining parameters such as spindle speed and depth of cut. According to obtained data it is better machining with high speed and low depth of cut.
