Popis: | This paper presents the design and simulation of a compact Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA), suitable for ultra wide band wireless communication. The proposed antenna is designed to have both, a slotted radiator and also a slotted ground plane. The substrate used is FR4 substrate, with a dielectric constant of 4.4 and the volume of the antenna is designed as 40 × 40 × 3.5 mm3. Using the High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) simulator, and analyzing the different antenna parameters such as the return loss, radiation pattern, VSWR, gain etc., the proposed antenna is successfully simulated for an operating frequency range from 4.4 GHz to 15 GHz, having a bandwidth of 10.6 GHz. Because of its compact size, low profile and broad bandwidth, the proposed UWB PIFA stands as a suitable candidate for many types of wireless communications. |
