Popis: | Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) with collision induced dissociation (CID), is based on the fragmentation of mass selected primary ions in a reaction cell through collisions with an inert gas. The daughter ions thus obtained are mass analysed by the second mass analyser and are a “fingerprint” of the selected primary ion. A study of the MS/MS CID spectra of the molecular ion as well as of the fragment ions of a compound, will provide information leading to the determination of the fragmentation processes and pathways of that compound. |
