Popis: | Smart textiles have seen tremendous growth over the past few years, especially in terms of research funding and development of start-ups. However, very few products have, so far, succeeded in reaching the consumer market. Indeed, one of the main challenges remains the lack of standardized test methods to evaluate the properties and performance of smart textiles on an objective and comparable basis. Although several testing methods are developed and used by various companies and research centers that produce such active materials, there is a growing need for organizations such as the ISO, ASTM, etc. to become involved in order to standardize test methods. |
