Transoral Sonography in the Diagnosis of Peritonsillar Abscess

Popis:	Our study population included 10 patients with clinically suspected peritonsillar abscess (PTA).Nine patients actually had PTA and one patient had peritonsillitis. All patients were subjected to a transoral sonographic examination using the RT fino apparatus (Yokogawa Medical Systems) equipped with a MZ 6.5MHz probe.In all patients with PTA, the existence of the disease was demonstrated. The present study showed that transoral sonography can be useful in the diagnosis of peritonsillar abscess.
