Popis: | This letter illustrates the electrical and mechanical design, simulation, and test results of a high-power miniaturized beam steering network for SAR applications at X-band using a waveguide based $8 \times 8$ butler matrix. The unit has an insertion loss of better than 0.4 dB and isolation of better than 25 dB over 600 MHz bandwidth at 9.6 GHz. The unit has been tested for power handling of up to 500 W average and peak power of up to 6 kW. The mechanical size has been contained under $478\times 362\times264$ mm3 using a novel nonplanar structural design. |
