In Aconitum, diterpenoid alkaloids have been acknowledged as of chemotaxonomic significance. Aconitum taronense Fletcher et Lauener (Ranunculaceae) is a medicinal plant endemic to Yunnan Province of China. In the present study, seventeen alkaloids, including fifteen aconitine-type (1–15) and two franchetine-type C19-diterpenoid alkaloids (16–17), were isolated from the roots of A. taronense for the first time. The chemotaxonomic significance of these compounds along with other diterpenoids alkaloids from species of Aconitum are summarized. |
