Popis:	Dimers of methacrolein and α-ethylacrolein have been obtained and undergo a Cannizzaro reaction to the corresponding pyran alcohols and sodium salts of pyran acids. Their bacteriostatic, bactericidal, and fungicidal properties have been studied.
