Properties of a New Contrast Medium for Bronchography

Popis:	The bronchographic properties, general tolerance and rate of clearance of an arachis oil suspension of n-propyl 2, 4, 6-triiodo-3-diacetamidobenzoate (propyl docetrizoate) has been investigated in the cat and in man. In the cat, 60 and 75 per cent suspensions produced good bronchograms, the radio-opaque material clearing from the lung in 24 to 48 hours. No evidence was found that the compound caused any significant degree of inflammation to the lung. The preparation has been used for routine bronchography in patients on 20 occasions. Bronchograms of clear contrast were obtained, the medium disappeared from the lung in two to four days, and no immediate or later reactions were observed.
