Popis: | The efficiency of radioluminescence (∼1.7 × 10−6) of distilled water has been measured under normal conditions. A beam of accelerated electrons with an energy of up to 230 keV was used to excite the water luminescence. This light was guided through a quartz optical fiber to the photocathode of a photomultiplier. The detecting system was calibrated with a standard ribbon lamp. The dose absorbed in water was recorded with film dosimeters. |
