Popis: This study will examine juror decision-making regarding an alleged sexual assault case. It will specifically examine how people’s opinions change when they find out an alleged perpetrator had continued interaction after an alleged sexual assault. Furthermore, it will help uncover whether people’s memory of case details is related to their opinions about an alleged sexual assault case. Previous research has looked at the impact of an alleged victim and perpetrator having a pre-existing relationship prior to an alleged sexual assault, such as marital sexual assault (Bergen, 2016). However, there is minimal research about the impact of continued interaction between an alleged victim and perpetrator post-assault on jurors perceptions. There is also limited research on how people’s memory of case details relates to their verdicts. The current study aims to fill these gaps in the literature.
