Popis:	The article first proposes categorization of dams based on volume of material in the dam body. Concrete dams containing up to 1000 cubic meters of concrete are the focus of the remainder of the article. Differences in construction between large and small dams are detailed, with emphasis on structural features. Labor outlays and construction schedules are also discussed. 8 refs., 3 tabs.
