Popis: | The Bochdalek hernias is a type of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) that is characterized by the persistence of a diaphragmatic breach. These hernias are most often diagnosed in the perinatal period and are rare in adults. However, acute intestinal obstruction can be a rare revealing mode in adults, and strangulated Bochdalek diaphragmatic hernia is the subject of this article. The article discusses the embryology and pathophysiology of Bochdalek hernias, as well as their clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment. We report a case study of a 25-year-old patient with a chronic pain in the left hypochondrium radiating to the left pulmonary hemifield, which was diagnosed as a strangulated Bochdalek diaphragmatic hernia. |
