Popis:	The shape and near edge structure of the L III absorption discontinuity of tungsten in some rare earth tungstates, RE 2 (WO 4 ) 3 , were studied using a 40 cm Cauchois-type transmission x-ray spectrograph. Molecular orbital theory was used to interpret the fine structure.
