Popis:	The reaction of 5-diazo-(5H)-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptene with a palladium(II) precursor afforded the mononuclear carbocyclic carbene complex in high yield under mild conditions. Characterization of this complex using crystallographic and spectroscopic techniques unexpectedly revealed an almost planar carbocyclic ring system and rare intramolecular preagostic or anagostic C−H···Pd interactions.
