A Summary of the Quench Behavior of B&W 1 m Collider Quadrupole Model Magnets

Popis: In order to evaluate the quench performance of a B&W-Siemens designed quadrupole magnet at the earliest possible stage, a model magnet program was developed at B&W for the support of the Superconducting Super Collider. We report the quench performance, training behavior, and the ramp rate dependence for the QSH-801 through QSH-804 series of short (1.2 meter) quadrupole model magnets.
