Excerpts from the report: At the request of the greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, a study of selected food distribution facilities was undertaken in February 1967. The study was limited to those firms with urgent relocation problems. This report provides guides for the relocation of these firms and their formation into the nucleus of a food distribution center to serve the Greater Cincinnati area. The study has the following objectives: To analyze the present situation of these firms and to determine if there is sufficient volume and variety to provide the nucleus of a new food distribution center. To determine the kinds and amounts of facilities needed and acreage required for these firms, the cost of construction, and estimated cost of ownership of the proposed land and facilities. To analyze possible sites that could accommodate the nucleus firms and future growth. To provide a master plan for orderly future growth from the initial facilities to a complete food distribution center. |
