Popis: The scolytids, M. mali, M. fasciatum, X. saxeseni, X. ferrugineus, and X. xylographus, were attracted consistently to black oak trees killed each month from March to August, 1974. More beetles were attracted to larger diameter trees and most were trapped on the north aspect. The beetles showed no trends for attraction for trees killed in different months.
