Models and Programs of the Gain and Noise Figure of the Nd-doped Fiber Amplifier in 1.7-1.8μm Band

| Popis: | This paper gives an introduction and research results on the Nd-doped fiber amplifier. We have constructed calculation models and programs of the Gain and Noise Figure with changing pump power, signal power, number of doped ions per unit volume, and fiber length using MATLAB. When the pump power or ion concentration increases, or the signal power decreases, the Gain has an increasing trend as presented in the research results. The Gain reaches a maximum when the fiber length is 1.35m. The Noise Figure decreases with increasing signal power or decreasing ion concentration. It reaches a minimum with a high pump power and a fiber length of 1.4m. |
