Popis: | Behavioral Marital Therapy (BMT) assumes that couples have skill deficits that lead to marital dissatisfaction. Couples are taught these skills within an organized framework to improve marital satisfaction. Integrative Couple Therapy (ICT) adds an additional step called acceptance, which is necessary before training can begin. Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) concentrates on the strengths that clients bring to therapy and emphasizes the positives by looking at solutions, not problems. Although these theories seem to be at odds, it is proposed that they can be successfully integrated. A general overview of each model is provided with a description of the integration of the theories. Finally, a case showing clinical application of the integrated model is presented. |
