Popis: | Communities have always been foundational to health systems and have been recognised as such since at least the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1978, but the Global AIDS Strategy of 2021-2026 specifically elevates community leadership as foundational for sexual and reproductive services and improvements in the legal determinants of human rights, non-discrimination and sexual and reproductive health. In this way, HIV is a pathfinder for its high-level recongition of how the sexual and reproductive health rests on the mutuality of community-led responses for services and law and policy reform with legal determinants that shape both health and the potential for community leadership. By mapping evidence on the financial resource requirements and benefits of community-led responses, as well as the costs and benefits of underpinning legal determinants, this review aims to show the way toward bridging the implementation and financing gaps for responses to HIV and broader sexual and reproductive challenges that centre community-leadership and rights-affirming laws and policies. |
