Popis: | New Ce Cu Fe Al Si bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) with large supercooled liquid regions (Δ T x , Δ T x = T x − T g , where T g is the glass transition temperature and T x is the crystallization temperature) and high glass formation ability (GFA) were developed. Both Fe and Si elements are very effective to improve the GFA and enlarge Δ T x of Ce-based BMGs. The Δ T x in the Ce Cu Fe Al Si alloys reaches to 95 K and BMG rods could be prepared with diameters of 10 mm. In the Ce Cu Al Fe alloys, T g , T x and Δ T x increase with increasing Fe content. The reduced glass transition temperatures ( T rg = T g / T l , T l is the liquid temperature) of the present alloys are about 0.5–0.6 and thus much lower than those of other base BMG systems with high GFA. |
