Popis: | Aesthetic surgery represents a mode of surgical expression that has evolved over the last 2000 years. Ostensibly it encompasses the principles of beauty, grace, and symmetry. However, today's cosmetic surgeon must not underestimate the ideals of ethical propriety, knowledge, and patient safety. This brief article describes a case report of a 49-year-old white woman undergoing liposculpture. The findings show that concentration of 32 mg/kg did not alter cardiac rhythmicity even in a patient with underlying cardiac conduction defects. Continued collection of data on lidocaine disposition kinetics will hopefully lead to the formation of safety protocols for its use in liposuction. |
