Popis:	Some sulfides with benzylic hydrogen have been carboxylated by carbonating the respective carbanions generated with dimsylsodium in dimethyl sulfoxide. The resulting mercaptocarboxylic acids have then been found to have considerably-enhanced rates of decarboxylation reaction.
