Popis:	ortho-Toluic acid was dimetalated with excess lithium diisopropylamide, and the resulting intermediate was condensed with a variety of aromatic esters to afford new substituted 2-(2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)benzoic acids (ortho-phenacylbenzoic acids).
