Popis:	Two cases are presented where a transoesophageal Doppler probe was used to measure aortic blood flow during resuscitation. This technique allowed rapid and continuous assessment of cardiac output, myocardial contractility and volume status. Using this information, therapy during resuscitation was optimised for these patients in whom insertion of a pulmonary artery catheter was considered hazardous.
