Popis: Qualitative data were gathered in a study of how midwives facilitate and women make informed choices in pregnancy. Issues of power permeated the data. This series of three articles will interpret and discuss these issues in relation to Lukes' (1974) conceptualization of power, and more recent theories regarding empowerment. This second article examines Lukes' second dimension of power, wherein the dominant group controls the agenda of what may and may not be discussed, and what decisions may therefore be made, in relation to data from the informed choice study.
