Popis: 1. The alkylation of benzene with propene in presence of H2O · BF3, H3PO4 · BF3, H3PO4 · BF3 — H2O · BF3, AlCl3, H2SO4, and AlCl2 · HSO4 was investigated at atmospheric pressure under given experimental conditions, account being taken of the molar ratio of the reacting hydrocarbons, the temperature, and the amount of catalyst. The superiority of the catalyst H3PO4-BF3 was demonstrated. 2. In the alkylation of benzene with propene in presence of aluminum chloride, the formation of polyisopropylbenzenes may be effectively prevented by addition of polyisopropylbenzenes to the reaction mixture. In alkylation in presence of acid catalysts such as H2SO4, and H3PO4 · BF3, addition of polyisopropylbenzenes is not effective, for the reaction does not attain an equilibrium state.
