Popis: | The aim of the present work was to study diurnal variation in reactions in a stress test (the threat of pain stimulation) in patients with depressive disorders. Studies used electroencephalography (EEG) with analysis of coherence (COH). The difference in COH between the stress test and background averaged for all cortical zones in both the morning hours (from 08:00 to 10:00) and the evening hours (from 16:00 to 18:00) had positive values reflecting a generalized increase in the functional activity of cortical zones in both hemispheres. The greatest difference was seen in the left hemisphere in the morning hours, while the smallest difference was seen in the right hemisphere in the evening. Left-hemisphere responses to the stress situation were different in the left and right hemispheres; morning functional activity increased in the temporal leads, i.e., the central, intermediate, and posterior temporal and, more weakly, the central and occipital areas; the evening saw a diffuse increase in functional activity. |
