Popis: | Internet of Things (IoT) is an expanding paradigm that aims to interconnect devices through the Internet, which can be common objects people use in their daily life. These devices take advantage of specific apparatus called sensors and actuators, built to be as autonomous, reliable, and inexpensive as possible. One of the most popular application verticals of the IoT paradigm is the Smart Home, where house appliances (e.g. showers, curtains, doors, lights, and refrigerators) become smart autonomous devices. Thereby, these gadgets can be configured according to the users' needs and preferences. Besides, IoT Smart House applications can improve their residents' lives by providing comfort, easiness, and practicality. Accordingly, this paper presents an automated curtain system for an IoT smart home scenario. In this system, the curtains can be controlled remotely through an application on a smartphone or be configured to operate automatically according to the users' routine by collecting environment data through sensors. The solution is demonstrated and validated through a prototype presenting the experiments and results analysis. |
