Senate committee trims NSF, increases NASA funding

Popis: By a vote of 25-0 on September 9, the full Senate Appropriations Committee sent to the floor its version of HR2491, the VA, HUD, Independent Agencies Appropriations bill for fiscal year 1994. The bill funds the National Science Foundation and NASA, among others. The Senate bill reduces NSF's fiscal 1994 budget by $39.3 million, or 1%, from the House version of HR2491. Under the Senate bill, NSF would receive a 9% increase over the current year, rising to $2981.9 million (current year: $2733.6 million; fiscal 1994 request: $3180.2 million.)
