Popis: This paper presents the design process of a pop-up as the framework for the interpretation and active learning about the Castle of Peniscola. Using a combination of sections of the building within their landscape setting, a pop-up was developed to build and to handle intuitively, based on the floorplan. The result is a three-dimensional representation that shows its relationship to its context. The paper first presents the research framework for this experience, and its goal of producing varied approaches that enhance the graphic layer as a means to develop other supports for interpreting and learning about spaces and architecture. In this case, a self-assembly item was developed which can concatenate a series of sections upon the topographic profile on which this building stands. Secondly, a report is made of the process used to make it, the cuts chosen for their spatial interest, and the assembly which allows visualizing and handling this narrative construct. Finally, the paper closes with the contribution of this resource to the active experience regarding the built environment and its intrinsic relationship with learning about the language of visual and graphic representation.
