Popis:	Methods to avoid complications in posterior thoracolumbar instrumentation spinal surgery are discussed. These methods are reviewed as they relate to (1) patient factors, (2) preoperative evaluation, (3) positioning pitfalls, (4) bone graft harvest, (5) miscellaneous adjunct procedures performing concurrently, (6) fusion bed preparation, (7) instrumentation (laminar fixation), (8) closure, and (9) postoperative care.
